Yo yooo hope y'all have been doing great and killin it at life lol. I just wanted to go over some things for the creatives today and talk about the importance of props and set design! Personally, I think building a set that's dedicated to the specific mood and feel that you're after can really be the home run of the whole visual. Taking the time to build props and pieces and go the extra mile to make everything stand out. Getting more involved in this part of the visual is something I've been trying to get better at and the only way you'll get better at it is by doing it.
With that being said I wanted to give you guys an example of what I mean. Currently, I'm working on ideas and plans for a music video shoot later this month. I decided to take it upon myself to build my own props because I had some really creative ideas I thought would match the song.
First off, I wanted a wooden rack with lights on it. Basically, it's a rack of lights that can change different colors. Next, I wanted an art canvas with optic fiber light cables poking through the canvas so it kinda looks like stars. This is what we can expect everything to look like in the music video being the final product.
It was totally worth spending the extra time to make what was in my head a reality and I think it turned out really well.
We plan on shooting this visual at Glo Studios in Cleveland. We needed a nice space to bring everything together so that was the next step.
There's plenty of room to get creative and play around with the different prop and set pieces here so it was a perfect fit for this shoot.
This shoot is going to be a good one so I'll be sure to have someone there running my IG so you guys can keep up with what's going on! I hope you got some helpful info and enjoyed the blog I'll be back with another post soon! Also go ahead and subscribe to the email list to get notified of anything related to God Media!
